FSDreamTeam is pleased to announce the release of FSDreamTeam Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Available for FSX and FS9, with a license valid for use in both simulators. A new exciting South Florida destination that has never been covered properly before, located in convenient location that can be reached easily by hundreds of important airports within short distance.

As with previous sceneries, the FSX version comes with the new FSDreamTeam scripting engine, with YouControl features to control several scenery animations. Fully custom hires ground is included both in FS9 and FSX, and custom jetways using native FSX animations are featured as well. With the release of Clermont Ferrand Airport Scenery (FS2004), France VFR completes its Collection of Regional Airport by editing the 6th pane of Airport scenery for FS2004.

The scenery conceptualizes the Airport of Clermont Ferrand (FS2004) using photo-real high definition textures of the ground adding as well night textures for the entire zone covered. The scenery spreads over 35 km² and adds to the airport an extended photo-realistic area including specific Autogen as well as semi photo-real tarmacs and taxiway (NEW!).
The scenery is optimized in order to obtain the best possible framerate and Quality/performance. You can use it as a standalone product or in addition to the Auvergne scenery (VFRPack, release later this year) without any modification. Due to its particular concept, the scenery is entirely compatible with any mesh of your choice.

FranceVFR: Bretagne VFR photo-real scenery

France VFR is proud to announce after long months of development the release of its latest scenery – the very first of its new product range (Regional VFR) - Bretagne VFR.

This scenery represents a new approach in development by pushing the realism even further than the Basepack: covering a more important geographical zone and providing more than 50% of specific autogen as well as all essential VFR landmarks within one product. For Bretagne VFR it means 31 000 km² of full photo- real scenery with enhanced colours and contrast, native 38m Mesh, waterclass, many 3D objects and extremely detailed 3 ‘mini-scenery’ of well-known areas (St-Malo inner city and harbour, Brest harbour and the Morbihan Bay). All water textures are navigable, 14 groups of windmills are placed, all lighthouses are represented with luminous effects giving a real life navigation experience to the scenery.

Dolomynum 1.2.4 was released today. It is a minor update; new functions mainly focusing on user friendliness. The file is also how hosted at FSnordic.net file library for fast downloads.

Dolomynum (also known as DLMN or Don't Lose My Number) is an independent and lightweight tool that runs locally on your PC and shows the status (members online as controllers, pilots and observers) of FSD-based online flying networks such as IVAO and VATSIM (similar to the Servinfo or WhazzUp softwares). Features are mainly limited for showing online status - so don't expect functions like route planning, textures, weather and so on. It is a network traffic viewer, not an all-in-one virtual aviation tool.

AVSIM Hacked & Down

The major simulation site Avsim has been hacked, and completely destroyed. A press release follows from Tom Allensworth, CEO and Publisher of AVSIM: “We regret to inform the flight simulation community that on Tuesday, May 12, AVSIM was hacked and effectively destroyed. The method of the hack makes recovery difficult, if not impossible, to recover from. Both servers, that is the library / email and web site / forum servers were attacked. AVSIM is totally offline at this time and we expect to be so for some time to come. We are not able to predict when we will be back online, if we can come back at all. We will post more news as we are able to in the coming days and weeks.

According to the rumours the hack is related to an employee fired from the team just a few days ago.

IVAO-FI: Radar Contact – Helsinki Spring RLE 25.4.2008

Helsinki-Vantaa, EFHK, is by far the largest airport in Finland. It lies in the southern tip of Finland, right next to the capital Helsinki. Over 40 airlines have regular service from Helsinki-Vantaa to hundreds of destinations around the world. Finnair is the biggest operator with its hub being Helsinki-Vantaa.

On Saturday 25th of April IVAO Finland will hold a RLE at Helsinki-Vantaa. Between 1200 and 2100 UTC we will provide all departing and arriving flights at Helsinki-Vantaa for you to enjoy! During this event all control positions will be manned as in real life. The Finnish division is known to the world for its traditional Christmas Fly-In to Rovaniemi and soon for its real life events, too. Our staff and air traffic controllers gathered valuable experience during the Scandinavian RLE with tens of flights - now we're ready for hundreds.

The Finnish Virtual Aviators' Association (Suomen Virtuaali-ilmailijat, SVIL) is a non-profit organization that supports virtual aviation activities in Finland. The organization will arrange an event in Vantaa parallel to the RLE. Some of the pilots and controllers will be working from the event and online flying in IVAO will be promoted at the event.

German Airports 3 Hamburg

An up to date Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel  airport was sorely missed in FS up to today. It’s an important airport for the region and there just was no good coverage so far. But the German Airports developers done their magic again and Aerosoft now has started selling the download FS2004 version. The FSX (free for those who buy the FS2004 version) and boxed versions will follow soon. Looking at the images you know that German Airports 3 - Hamburg will be a sweet airport to start or end your flights.
