FS Nordic: Discussion forum FAQ

BAW:
Karma was removed during the forum upgrade as it was found that alot of users didnt really use the karma system for the correct reason and just freely handed out karma, leading to a missleading karma rating, i highly doubt it would be brought back

GBOAF:
ah ok thanks for that Joe.

Personally I never used it but was given it as i didn't really understand what it does.

so is the number of posts posted a more reliable way of what the original Karma was designed for? I.E the more posts you have posted then the more likely someone asking a question will trust you for a good answer rather than someone who has only got a low postage?

Gareth

BAW:
Correct....the number of posts reflects how experienced the user is here at the forums, a member with a lot of experience (a lot of forum posts) would be more trusting than someone with a very little post count. But, just because someone has a low post count does not mean they are wrong or unknowledgable, a person with only 1 post could well be correct.

GBOAF:
yea thats what i was thinking.

but as you were saying I think on these forums you can quickly pick up who is a good person to ask questions to or to get answers from. (Did i repeat myself in the last scentence?)

Also the number of posts do not truly refflect the true ways of this person as i assume that they may have only left one-worded answers on some previous forums and as such may not refflect their true way.

Sorry I am rambling on now

Gareth
