VATSIM Questions
GBOAF:
what version of squawkbox are you using?
You have to be using the latest version (3.1) for it to work propperly
Also, how long are you leaving squawkbox running before u press ctrl+alt+del?
it does take a while for it to check itself and everything else (about 30-45 seconds I would leave it for).
Also have you tried using FSINN to try connecting at all?
regards
Gareth
Jps:
I am using the latest version, 3.1.
I left it loading for my dinner which took about 20 min. and nothing happened
And I have above the sb program when I'm on my desktop the name of it just like the internet programm'a name is above it, and after there reads "Squawkbox", there reads "(not responding)", whih means it doesn't work. And when I press ctrl+alt+del, the squawkbox reads 2x on the program list.
And no, I haven't tried FSINN to connect. Maybe I should try it, as it is like sb. I'll try it when I have time..
Thank you very much

GBOAF:
just a quick question do you have the latest version of FSUIPC (version 3.65) ( available here at http://www.schiratti.com/files/dowson/FSUIPC.zip?timestamp=280406
this is vital as if you have an old version, sb has been known to hang and crash like you have experienced.
if you need help installing the FSUIPC file then let us know.
if this works and sorts out the problem then let us know
Regards
Gareth
Martin Georg:
Hello,
this most likely results from a firewall or other Internet Security Software blocking internet access for Squawkbox. There are quite some solutions to this problem. For these, head over to the Squawkbox Support Forum at http://www.squawkbox.ca/forum/
GBOAF:
yea i can understand a firewall blocking it connecting to the network, but surely not make the program crash like it does?]
Juhana, have u tried running it under the modules list by the file, edit, help etc commands on the top line?
if this works then use it that way but if it carries on then we know it is the whole program that is crashing
