Touch an go!... But how?
« on: 24.07.06, 16:21 »

hi

is there a pilot (or any other informed), who can describe how a touch and go is performed?

i especially like to know the procedures, for example for a B737 NG. how are the flaps handeled, what's with the A/T, how is the FMC programmed for a TaG?

thanks for any reply,

tony

I don't have any company specific touch-and-go procedures at hand, but here's some guidelines which after a bit of thought are self-explanatory.

Prior to landing:
- do not arm autospoilers
- do not arm autobrake
- disengage autothrottle

After touchdown verify the latter are not activated, do not brake, set flaps to takeoff position and apply full takeoff thrust.

From there on continue takeoff as usual.

To be perfectly honest i dont really see the point of having a touch and go as it doesnt doo anyhting apart from wate fuel declining and rising back tom a desired flight level

You do touch and go ladings for practice, it's actually very demanding and fun.

Touch and go's are done to practise landings so fuel consumption isn't really an issue. How would the pilots train for type without touch and go's?  Smiley

EDIT: Thomas got there first..
