April News Update

After a few previous press releases we have decided to present news in a monthly round-up thus making a longer post and not swamping forums with our regular news! The past month has certainly been a busy one with a few surprises for some, let us explain more ….

Breathe X
The new subsidiary of Breathe Airways has now officially launched on Sunday 20th April 2008, the first “openskies” agreement based flight departed Madrid Barajas at 08:30AM bound for New York JFK on a daily service aboard 2 new leased Boeing 757-236 aircraft fitted with performance enhancing winglets, the second flight departed later that day bound for Toronto Hamilton.

Previously we announced the destination would be to Toronto Pearson but after further discussions and meetings this was changed to Toronto Hamilton which will help to keep costs down for the airline in the form of slightly cheaper landing charges.

Daily flights connect Madrid from Newcastle and London Gatwick meaning a seamless trip from the UK to USA at the fraction of the cost of rival airlines. This new addition to our timetables enables our pilots at Class B rating to fly long haul flights to the US rather than European flights in the Boeing 757 aircraft.

Real World Event
We were very proud to have our first ever real-world event on Sunday April 6th 2008 at Bristol International Airport, the day was a great success and was a chance to spread the word of Breathe Airways to the world and the public!

CEO Simon Luckin showing how its done & Vice CEO Daniel Hobbs meeting the public

A report on the days events with photographs can be found on our website under “Events”, we were very priviledged to be there and receieved much interest from members of the public including a few who thought we were a real airline!
We plan to hold another real world event later this yeat to celebrate one year of operations of the airline and look forward to meeting many new faces there.

New Hub
Due to the addition to our fleet and the need to expand our flight network earlier this month the decision was made to launch a brand new hub at Bristol International to coincide with our real world event, the launch of this new hub means some of our new Embraer 145 aircraft can be based there operating flights on a domestic basis. There will of course be flights to further destinations throughout Europe using other aircraft in our fleet.

Website Upgrade
After 8 months of operations the need for a website upgrade has come, we have already out-grown our current website and systems and these now need to be upgraded to include new features, more useful information and fix small bugs that have arisen by constant use.

As we are an airline that listens to our pilots we are currently running a ideas thread on our website for pilots to express their ideas and suggestions for the next build of the website. The expected completion date will be Mid to Late Summer 2008.

Codeshare Partners
We are currently looking for airlines from other countires to partner with to offer codeshare flights both for our pilots and passengers, these would work by allowing flights from both airlines to be flown with a more flexible fleet and flight allocation, areas of great interest to us at the moment are North Africa and Asia, please get in touch with the CEO at if you are interested in a codeshare partnership with Breathe Airways.

Staff Vacancies
As many of you know we are a rapidly growing and dynamic airline, this sounds like a job advert from a newspaper but we hope it will grab attentions! We currently have the following vacancies for staff members to help with the running of the airline:

Online Flying Director
Do you have a passion for flying online? Could you write help documents for pilots who have never flown online before? Could you help our pilots get online and connected to the VATSIM and IVAO network?
If you answered yes to the questions above then you may be the person we are looking for, we would love to hear from you, please drop your details into an email and send them to the CEO at flybreathe[at]

Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Could you decide on new routes? Suggest additions to our existing fleet? Update relevant route and hub information on our website as and when needed? Think outside the box on the airline in general?
If you answered yes to the questions above then you may be the person we are looking for, we would love to hear from you, please drop your details into an email and send them to the CEO at flybreathe[at]
